10. Taqueria El Tapatio

This place is great! The carne asada fries are really good, and the tacos are delicious. The staff is nice and helpful, even though they’re always busy. These were some of the best carne asada fries I have ever eaten.

They had a good amount of meat, and the tomato, onion, and cilantro goodness was served. I was really hungry that day and didn’t finish (I only ate about half), but I eat less than the average person.

They also have tacos de cabeza, which are really tasty. I will definitely be back! PS: They’re hiring! 🙂

9. Taco Naco

This little taco shop has been around since the 80’s, and it’s still cash only. The tacos are amazing- definitely some of the best I’ve ever had.

The burritos are really good too, and pricing is far cheaper than most places today. There’s no public restroom but they sometimes let you use their restroom. Indoor sitting is minimal, but they do have a television.

If you’re looking for an authentic experience and some delicious tacos, this is the place to go. Just be sure to bring cash!

8. The Great White Hut

We were really not expecting to enjoy the food as much as we did. Everything was so good and the meats were so flavorful. For people who love spicy food, we can say with confidence that they do not play around when you choose the “spicy” option. Our least favorite dish was the fiesta frita only because the fries were not cooked all the way through. The tacos were delicious, though.

Parking is kind of rough. We think there is no parking at this location because they are in a tiny parking lot and there are signs everywhere that say parking is just for the pharmacy customers. But, there is metered street parking or a parking lot in the same block for $1.50/hr.

Oh, also, there is nowhere to sit and eat inside. We think there is only a handful of outdoor seats attached to a building, but we were not looking to “dine-in” anyways. All in all, it was a great experience and we will definitely be back!

7. Tacos Cancun

If you’re looking for some amazing Mexican food in Glendale, look no further than this taco spot. The carne asada burritos are my family’s favorite, but all of the tacos are delicious.

My personal favorite is the shrimp taco, but they’re all great. The sauces are both flavorful and perfect for those who like it hot.

The service is friendly and accurate, and the prices are unbeatable. If you’re in the mood for some delicious Mexican food, this is the place to go.

6. King Taco

I’ve personally had King taco maybe 4 times, I got my first taste from a friend who drove all the way from the bay just to give them a try. Unfortunately, I was unable to eat the burrito right away (doesn’t count).

The 2nd time was at the DTLA location and, honestly, I wasn’t fond of the flavorless tacos. I had friends in town craving King Taco, so the nearest location was Mountain Ave, in Ontario.

A bit hungover from the night before, I was looking forward to a greasy, flavorful taco. Again, though, I was disappointed. The third time was actually pretty recent. A buddy of mine was in town and he really wanted to go to King Taco. We went to the same Mountain Ave location and once again, wasn’t impressed.

The tacos were dry and bland and overall just not good. It’s been a while since my fourth and final encounter with King Taco but, if I remember correctly, it wasn’t any better than the previous three times.

All in all, I’m not a huge fan of King Taco. The only time I would ever recommend going is if you’re drunk and looking for something greasy to soak up all the alcohol. Otherwise,

5. Brick & Flour Artisanal Mexican Grill

Comfort food is the best. There’s just something about a dish that hits all the right spots and leaves you feeling satisfied, both emotionally and physically.

For me, that dish is tacos from Flour & Fish. The tacos here are some of the best in Glendale, hands down. The flour tortillas are key – they really make the tacos hit different.

My go-to order is the fish & shrimp tacos, but the al pastor tacos are also fantastic. And don’t forget the elote in a cup! It’s the perfect side to any of the tacos. Yes, Flour & Fish is slightly on the pricier end, but it’s worth every penny.

So if you’re looking for a delicious, comforting meal, head to Flour & Fish and try the tacos. You won’t regret it!

4. Victoria's Tacos & Grill

I was brought to this place by a friend, and she told me that it was one of her favorite Mexican places in the area. I can see why. The food is delicious, well-priced, and the staff is friendly. It has a total mom-and-pop feel with high-quality, well-prepared food.

It’s not at all fancy, but when you’re putting a taco in your mouth, it doesn’t need to be fancy. It’s simply delicious, well prepared, bursting with flavor, and entirely satisfying. I dig it, and you will too.

3. El Sauz Tacos

I love this place! The people who work here are so friendly and everything is made with love. I eat here at least twice a week, sometimes more.

There’s another location down the road and when I was moving in I saw a huge line every day even during the pandemic.

When I found out there was an even closer location to my new place, that’s the moment I knew I was home. The food is amazing and I really feel like part of the family when I’m here. If you’re ever in the area, you have to check this place out!

2. Taco Azteca

I’d been driving by this tiny hole in the wall for years, seeing lots of people come to eat here and thinking, “It looks good. I’ll try it one of these days.”

Finally, I did, and it was sooo good. It’s one of those eateries where they only sell a small selection of items – tacos, burritos, tortas, and quesadillas – but they make these few items so well that there’s no need for anything else.

All you do is choose your item of choice, your protein/filling of choice, a drink if you wish, and dress it as you like at the self-serve containers of onions, cilantro, chili peppers, lime, and sliced radish. You can also make it a combo, which comes with beans, rice, and salad.

The staff are so kind; they give out good portions and make good recommendations. And the prices are really reasonable. If you’re ever in the area and looking for a quick, tasty meal, definitely give this place a try. You won’t regret it!

1. Toro Grillhouse

This place is amazing. I stopped in for lunch and was blown away by the chef’s special sushi tacos. I’ve been eating lunch from here a few times a week now just to try everything. From the wings & tacos to the burgers & bull dog it has all been unique and delicious. I highly recommend eating here. The service has also been great, everytime I come in they seem to remember my order. If you are looking for a new place to try I would highly recommend this place, you won’t be disappointed.
